The calm before a storm

Today began as cloudy, highs in the 70's. Muggy with a slight breeze. One of those days you're not sure what to do because it's not sunny enough to do something fun outdoors and not raining where you're forced to do something fun or relax indoors. I think one of the very few things you can do is fishing and that's just what I did. A little after 2pm I set off for the Androscoggin river with three hooks, two weights, and eight worms in a lunchbox with an icepack. I ended up catching nothing and losing two hooks and two weights. I think I maybe got a bite at one point but it just seems now the fish are gone due to the low water levels and heat. Colder water contains more oxygen and because of low water levels, the flow of water was smaller, generating less oxygen and lowering the depth. So not only was the water low and less oxygenated, there wasn't much cold water for the fish to be in and stay so they probably moved out deep. Oh well, it still made for an interesting day hiking rocks, climbing cliffs, and leaping over water to cross water pockets, gaps, and swift rapids.
